Building and editing your website
You build your site in the browser at app.soclo.app, under Website in the sidebar. You click a thing on the page and change that thing. Nothing you do is public until you click Publish and answer the question it asks.
How do I open the editor?
Sign in at app.soclo.app and click Website in the sidebar. The first time, it asks for your web address, and tells you plainly: your website starts private, and nothing is published until you choose Publish.
Do I have to build it from nothing?
No. You get three ways to start:
- Start blank — an open canvas. You add and arrange everything yourself.
- Start from a template — find a design, already styled with your Brand Kit, and make it yours.
- Generate my site with AI — your Brand Kit and your ideas, brought together. You see the price before generating.
How do I change a word, a picture or a button?
Click it on the canvas. The panel names what you selected — Text, Box, Image, Video, Button, Website menu or Product — and offers the matching action:
- Edit text for words. Type, then click Done.
- Change image or Change video to swap the picture.
- Edit box for colour, blend and corners.
Above the canvas there is Undo, Redo, and a Preview switch so you can see the page as a visitor will. The save state is written next to them: Saving…, Unsaved changes or All changes saved. None of those means public.
How do I add a section?
Click Add in the dock. The dialog is headed Add to your page, and the choices are named for what they are: Text, Box, Image, Video, Button, Website menu, Looks, Graphics, Motion graphics, Page photo, Book, Services, Shop, Hours, Pay and Animation.
Pick one and it lands on the canvas, where you move and shape it like everything else.
How do I add a page?
Open the pages panel — it is headed Your pages — and you have three routes:
- Recommended from your Brand Kit. Soclo suggests the pages a business like yours usually needs. Each has an Add page button.
- Get found. The pages that help people find you on search and through AI assistants, with their own Add page buttons.
- Add another page. Type a name, click Add.
Each page row lets you duplicate it, show or hide it in the menu, edit its details — Page name, Menu label, Page address — and delete it. Deleting is not final: removing a page keeps a restorable version in history.
What happens when I publish?
Click Publish and a dialog opens headed Your live website. It tells you the rule in one line: Publishing updates your whole website. Saved edits stay private until you publish.
Before you can publish, Soclo renders every page and checks it — the actions on it, accessibility, navigation, how it behaves at different widths, the page details search engines read, and any booking or payment details you have switched on. You get either a count of required items or No publish blockers found.
Issues are graded in plain words: Required before publish, Review, Worth checking. Only the first kind stops you.
The app says this itself, and it is worth repeating: the check is not a ranking, conversion, legal or accessibility guarantee. It catches things that are broken. It cannot tell you whether the page will sell.
Then there is a confirm step, and it spells out the consequence: Your saved words, photos and pages will be public. Anyone with the address can see them. The buttons are Publish now and Not yet.
How do I take it down again?
The same dialog has Take website offline. Your address stops showing the site. Your saved words, photos and pages stay where they are, so putting it back is one click.

Common questions
Does anything go public while I am editing?
No. The editor says so on the first screen: your website starts private, and nothing is published until you choose Publish. Saved edits stay private until you publish them.
How do I start a site?

Yes. The publish dialog runs a check across every page and reports either a count of required items or No publish blockers found. It is a check, not a guarantee of ranking, conversion or legal compliance, and the app says that too.
Can I take the site down again?
Yes. The same dialog has Take website offline. Your address stops showing the site, and your words, photos and pages stay exactly where they are.
